"...everything on the earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission. This is the Indian theory of existence." - Mourning Dove [Christine Quintasket] (1888-1936) Salish |

One of the negative byproducts of
civilization has been the steady deterioration of our
ability to cope with our environment. The scientific
advances we have made in medicine are helpful, but tend to
operate under the false assumption that death can be
defeated, as if it were an enemy. That is why we must
remember that without death, there could be no life. This
sedentary lifestyle has also led to many disorders such as
diabetes, cancer, food intolerance, and a multitude of
allergies. This section will focus on ways that we can live
healthier by remembering that we evolved living in a very
different manner than we live today. Once we acknowledge our
hunter/gatherer biology, we can begin to take care of our
bodies in a proper and balanced way. .
