"Once I was in Victoria, and I saw a very large house. They told me it was a bank and that the white men place their money there to be taken care of, and that by and by they got it back with interest. "We are Indians and we have no such bank; but when we have plenty of money or blankets, we give them away to other chiefs and people, and by and by they return them with interest, and our hearts feel good. Our way of giving is our bank." - Chief Maquinna, Nootka

As with all small churches, we survive primarily on donations.

If you feel that our work is important, then please support us if you can. We've even made it easy by offering four ways that you can support our work...

.

1. Donate Money

For many, the easiest way to support Sacred Lands is to make a tax deductible* monetary donation.

If you don't have a PayPal account, you can mail a check or money order to:

Sacred Lands
269 Rista Road
New Sweden, ME 04762

.

2. Buy a shirt or something...

You can visit our Community Shop where you can find a wide variety of t-shirts, bumper stickers, mugs, and other things that may help to spark conversation, and with a little luck help to change a mind or two. All profits from these sales go towards supporting the work of Sacred Lands. If you have any suggestions regarding the shop -- including any appropriate quotes, images or messages -- please let us know. If we use one of your suggestions, you can get one of those items at our cost.

.

3. Donate Materials

Materials can be anything from office supplies to building materials. These are also tax deductible* for their fair market value, though you should check with your local tax codes for details. For a list of the materials that we are currently in search of (just so we don't end up with a million typewriters), please go to our Wish List page to see if we might be looking for what you've got.

Please contact us BEFORE sending anything, as our storage space is currently quite limited. If you have something that we really, really need, but you can't afford the shipping costs, please contact us and perhaps something can be worked out. - Steward(at)SacredLands.org

.

4. Donate Your Time

This is the most difficult way for most people to participate, though it can be the most rewarding. You will also find on our Wish List page, a listing of services that we currently require. If you don't see something on that list that you can do, fear not. You can still contact us to offer your help. We'll put your name on a private list, and contact you if we need an extra pair of hands. Of course you're under no obligation if you change your mind, don't like the task we have available, have a scheduling conflict, or some other difficulty. We'll just try back some other time, or take you off the list at your say so.

I'd like to include here a brief note about donating time. It is important to remember that while working towards our goals, and though we take the goals seriously, we should remember to also enjoy the journey. For that reason, we try to make any task we do as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, while (hopefully) still doing a good job. You will find no stuffy workers at Sacred Lands. So if someday you give us a hand, you MUST have fun. Otherwise you will be made to wear a very silly hat until you stop taking yourself too seriously.
